The Progressive® Insurance Baltimore Boat Show arrives at the Baltimore Convention Center on January 23-26, 2020 with boats, marine equipment, exhibits, seminars, and activities for the entire family.
The 2020 show will be expanded by 32,750 square feet with the addition of a brand-new boating experience, in addition to the return of more than 300 boats, educational seminars, shopping experiences, and family-friendly activities.
The Baltimore Boat Show is a great opportunity for boating enthusiasts of all kinds to shop for the latest in gear and equipment ahead of boating season, and for families looking to wash away their winter blues with some summer-themed fun.
Baltimore Boat Show 2020 Highlights:
Discover Boating Experience (DBX)
DBX is a pop-up entertainment HUB offering guests a place to relax and have a drink while enjoying a variety of topics, seminars, and inspirational stories from exhibitors and local businesses.
Tackle & Fishing Store
Guests will be able to watch demonstrations and receive hands-on tutorials focused on trolling, tackle, and live bait fishing. The station will also teach conservation techniques and cover the general ecology of the Chesapeake Bay region, relating to fishing.
Virtual Fishing Simulator
Compete with friends and other guests to see who can reel in the biggest catch of the day. This free and fun simulator is as “reel” as it gets.
Touch-A-Boat Tour
The Touch-a-Boat Tour features a variety of recreational boats throughout the Show floor. Kids of all ages can climb aboard, snap a pic at the helm and learn the ropes of life on the high seas. At tour completion, they will win a prize.
Miss GEICO Offshore Racing Boat
Visit the world champion, Miss GEICO, a 50-ft Victory catamaran, which has a 3,300-hp 1650 RACE Mercury Racing sterndrive engines and reaches speeds over 200 mph.
Build-A-Boat
Children ages 12 and under can create a one-of-a kind model boat that they are able to take home as a souvenir.
Boating Career Day
The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) partners with the Maryland Marine Trade Association for the annual Career Day, an initiative that invites local students from high schools, colleges, and technical colleges, offering an interactive Q&A session aimed to cultivate the next generation of marine professionals.
Boating Skills Virtual Trainer
Take a simulated boat trip to practice your boating skills. The simulator is equipped with a steering wheel and a Mercury throttle to give you a hands-on experience that feels “reel.”
Progressive Insurance Boathouse
Brought to you by Progressive Insurance and the Annapolis School of Seamanship, stop by the club to master your docking techniques at the docking pool or try out the virtual reality boating experience.
Super Thursday
On Thursday, January 23th, enjoy the best deals of the weekend with special offers, food and beverage discounts, and even more exclusive offers. After 5 p.m. entrance to the show is just $5.
Military and First Responders Day
On Thursday, January 23th, all active and veteran military and first responders will receive $2 off entry with proper identification.
“Go Fishing” Friday
January 24th is “Go Fishing” Friday with an array of events from Discover Fishing seminars to the Friday Fish Fighting tournament at the Progressive Insurance Baltimore Boat Show. Battle with friends and other guests at the Fish Fighting tournament to win giveaways or the grand prize, a fishing charter!
The 10th Annual Crab Pickin’ Contest
On Friday, January 24th, Guests will be able to sign up to claw their way to victory by picking the most amount of crab meat. Sponsored by Conrad’s Seafood restaurant and 100.7 The Bay, the winner will receive a 55” 4K Ultra High Definition Fire TV Edition.
